Maintaining a Twist Out →
The more I wear twist outs, the less I like them. My roots tend to knot up in irritating ways and I can never get the volume I like. I will say one thing about twist outs: their painfully easy style to maintain and it LASTS. The twist out in the photo on the left is 3 days old!

Holiday Food Guilt and Why You Shouldn't Have It... →
Let’s get one thing straight: I hate Thanksgiving. It’s one of my least favorite holidays and it’s only redeeming factors are pumpkin pie and the 4 days I get off from class. Otherwise, it’s a ridiculous holiday that completely erases a chunk of American history. And I don’t even get a break on the 4 days off because I’m too busy doing all the work I ...
Hair Idol: Nathan Stewart-Jarrett →
Have you seen Misfits? I’ve already done a post on Antonia Thomas, one of the actors on it. Which should have motivated you enough to watch the show. Because it’s brilliant and hysterically funny (less funny now that Robert Sheehan left, but that’s a discussion for another day).

yearofthedogtooth asked: Dude, how do you frikin respond to posts? Are you magic, or am I just dumb?
jobolicious:
So…don’t think I can even sleep in my own bed anymore. I can’t fall asleep in it.
Maybe I need a new one, but it’s not like I can afford that.
Maybe new pillows? Or a new comforter/quit cover/cover thing? Usually if I change something dramatically it makes everything else seem like new :)
sortofkindofmaybe asked: Congrats on doing great on your presentation!! (I run recoveryasareality- sorry that I can only respond via my personal.) That sounds amazing- especially since that prof is so tough!! Good for you girlie!!! Keep it up!! xx, V :)
Super Simple Updo →
As you all probably know, I love updos. But I’m not very good at them. So I was really excited to come across this one by Naptural85 on youtube because it’s actually *gasp* do able for someone who is updo challenged! It actually reminded me of a portrait I of Queen Elizabeth I but I haven’t been able to locate it to include it in here! If I find it, I’ll add the link!

Most Amazing Run Ever
Perfect Weather.
Perfect Night.
Perfect Soundtrack.
And a perfectly clear head. What more could a stressed out student ask for?
Hair Idol: Flaviana Matata →
Flaviana Matata was Miss Tanzania 2007. That same year she went to the Miss Universe pageant and placed in the Top 15 as the first Tanzanian candidate (and she was still rockin’ a baldie).

Product Review: Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter... →
I really wanted to like this. I did! It’s gentle, the smell is earthy and doesn’t linger, and it didn’t dry my hair out, but I just can’t. Why?

Dear Alice,
Stop reading pages and pages and pages about social theory and the differences between Imposter Syndrome and the Dunning-Kruger Effect. Neither of them will help you on your Computer Science exam. And worrying about which one you “have?” That too, will not help you on your exam. Which is tomorrow morning. At an hour that you probably won’t wake up for because you’ll be up...
Not Another Hair Typing Method! →
That’s right folks, there is another hair typing method out there. This one if brought to you by Wild Sunshine Bliss. It’s probably one of the best descriptors in the sense it actually takes in thickness of hair, size of curl AND gives you pictures to compare to so you don’t have to go hunting for a ruler.

If Harry Potter Was A Black Boy? →
thefeeloffree:
zorascreation:
- His name would be Phillip, not Harry.
- He’d be a Black Briton of Jamaican parentage.
- He’d be a black Londoner, like Dean Thomas.
- Rather than attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he’d attend the African Institute for Black Magic.
- His best friends would be a Muggle-born British Nigerian girl called Chiamaka Okofor (“Chichi” for short)...
Hair Idol: Maxwell (back in the day) →
Maxwell is an American R&B artist. He played an important role in the development of the soul sub-genre, neo-soul. Seriously, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who claimed themselves as a “fan” or R&B or “neo-soul” who didn’t know who he was or wasn’t a fan.
